Prolotherapy and The Seniors’ Knee

As you get older, the tendons and ligaments in your body will naturally degrade over time. Because of this, most doctors recommend skipping prolotherapy or other biomedical advances. The opposition believes the best decision for them would be to go into knee therapy immediately. However, as more people are employing the usage of prolotherapy as their main source of treatment, it’s becoming more apparent that prolotherapy has positive effects on the regeneration of muscles and tendons, especially in the knee.

Prolotherapy and the Effects on the Knee

Arthritis – The practice of prolotherapy has been used to ease the effects of Osteoarthritis in the knee for several years now. While there is dissent in the medical community between doctors of varying backgrounds, there is a distinct, upward trend in the ability of prolotherapy to heal and remediate the immediate problems for arthritis.

For the most part, however, these treatments are essentially harmless. They’re taking an irritant solution and injecting it into an area that requires more focused healing from the body.

However, when we are discussing the effects of PRP Prolotherapy and stem cell prolotherapy, we are talking about a different healing process. Alleviation of inflammation and irritation in the knee does not equate to the same treatment for muscular regrowth and rejuvenation.

Last year, a study was performed on someone in their late eighties that showed signs of muscular regrowth in their tendons of the knee. This was a landmark case in the development of age-specific prolotherapy. Because of this, there has been a motion to advocate for prolotherapy in people as old as fifty for advanced regrowth of muscular tissue.
